However this is often not missed thanks to the formats fantastic ability to convey mood and emotion visually without the need for dialogue. Due to the nature of recording on film, it can become quite difficult to work in certain low light settings. In order to ensure the best possible quality and outcome, I usually aim to focus most of the footage I shoot on the well lit portions of the wedding day. This is important to take into consideration for clients wanting footage of romantically dim-lit dinners, church ceremonies with minimal windows or dark dance-floors. Due to these limitations there may be a compromise on quality in such settings. I will have a small mountable light and can arrange beforehand to use a more light sensitive film stock to aid in such settings accordingly.

Unfortunately - the reality is that shooting on vintage camera gear 30+ years old comes with the slight risk of mechanical failure. That being said, this is extremely unlikely and I have several preventative measures in place to deter this from happening. I thoroughly care for and service my equipment and always have back up cameras / rolls of film on hand. As for the delicate development / scanning process which is out of my control, I only use the best and most trusted labs in Toronto. Rest assured you are in the best hands!
